ACTIVISM

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank

Southern Center for Human Rights Microsoft Fellowship

Communications Fellow
With the Southern Center for Human Rights (SCHR) Fellowship, I was one of two people selected throughout the state to engage in research-based and community-driven solutions regarding policing in the city of Atlanta. More of my work with SCHR can be found here.

FICPFM Fellowship

Facilitator Training
FICPFM, Formerly Incarcerated Convicted People and Families Movement, hosts two, 6-week long fellowships equipping formerly-incarcerated leaders with the tools and resources they need to successfully run campaigns. During this fellowship, I was awarded the opportunity to learn different styles of leadership and how each fit me as an individual.

Reform Alliance

Ambassador
With REFORM, I advocated for and educated people about probation and parole reform in the state of Georgia. Being the most supervised state in the world, Georgia has a long way to go before we see justice and equality. Through this ambassadorship, I hope to change the shape of our system.

Columbia & UGLA Justice Fellowship

Youth Justice Fellow
As a Youth Justice Fellow with Columbia Law and UGLA, I worked with leaders such as Satra Talyor, K. Bain, and Jay Holder to discuss problems afflicting our communities and what policies should be written and implemented to remedy these issues.

Beyond the Box

Campaign Manager
In coordination with GACHEP, the Georgia Coalition for Higher Education in Prison, Beyond the Box is an inclusive initiative aimed at community rehabilitation through education. With the Beyond the Box co-founder, Patrick Rodriguez, we have built the website, engaged in research and speaking opportunities, and have met with community leaders, students, and lawmakers to launch the Beyond the Box campaign in Fall 2021.

REStoreher

Director of Communications
Picture
At RestoreHER, I work closely with activist Pamela Winn on managing her public presence and social media, creating a press kit and coordinating outreach, and more. In 2021, I had the honor of working on two pieces of legislation centered on bringing safety and dignity to incarcerated pregnant women.

Winn and I were also featured in Ms. Magazine as co-authors of an article raising awareness for HB 377, the Women's CARE Act. You can read the article here.

National Incarceration Association

Project Assistant
At the NIA, I work as the projects assistant for a variety of different initiatives. I was the coordinator for Family Day, an online event that helped Georgian families navigate the GDC; I started their first support group; I was second-in-command for their research project If Moms Ran Prisons; and I received training on Notion, Slack, and G Suites.

Destiny's Daughters of Promise

Media Coordinator
At Destiny's Daughters of Promise (DDP), I created their content, ran their analytics, scheduled posts, and came up with new initiatives such as Volunteer of the Month. Additionally, I wrote posts for their blogs and edited many of the videos on their platform
